Haifa
July 2007
Got lucky to assist the production of the opera Madame Butterfly with
Haifa Symphony.
Starring Japanese Soprano Hisako Ikeda, Swedish Tenor Johan Weigel
and the famous Israeli Opera singers Bariton Noah Breiger and Mezzo
Soprano Yuliya Plakhina. All was directed and conducted by Maestro
Tamir Chasson.
I never thought I could enjoy Opera that much!

Tokyo
June 2006
Just got back to Israel and was sent for a biz trip to Tokyo,
representing the Israeli company VoltaBelting.
I enjoyed FOOMA
exhibition very much, and got exposed to some very interesting
technologies in the food industry. (Needless to say that I ate there
pretty well...;-)) Click HERE
to see some more pics!
and of course, I got the chance to catch up with my good friends
again, celebrate my birthday, and do some cool shopping. ;-)
London is calling AGAIN.!
So... arrived to Heathrow again!
Actually I was welcomed by a perfectly clear sky! But could not keep my
6-days-Israeli-tan for long...

Home
sweet home!
Had an amazing time in Israel, and finally got my tan back! From the big cities I
have been recently, Haifa was a nice change! Some friends of mine got a nice addition to
their family, some got married and unfortunately some got the opposite... but Shula stayed the same Shula!
Frankly, I really wanted to stay this time! BUT I have agreed to work on a project in
the rainy kingdom.
With Mozart in Vienna
Spent a wonderful time in peaceful Vienna.
Tanke Robert & Andrea for the amazing time!

Weather Girl...
Tokyo is going to be very hot tomorrow... and the day after tomorrow... (and I wish I
could tell when would be the next jishin!) I will sure miss that steamy weather (which
most people tend to hate) next month in Europe...

and been this month in another TV gig of GuluGulu 99, on your screen on channel 4, Sat,

Cool Summer breeze
A normal beach is a 1 hour ride from Tokyo. So they brought the beach to Yoyogi park...
Enjoy some pics of l &Ulli & I in Tokyo's Mushi Atsui August.
AND... I was convinced to get a GosuRori (Harajuku's Gothic Lolita) outfit. I plan on wearing it next month in London...

and other updates:
July- Hanabi party in Izumi-
Tamagawa. All was fine till this huge earthquake,
that apparently was registered a magnitude of 6.0, the strongest to hit the capital
in 13 years. Many services as trains and even phone lines has stopped and few ppl were
injured. and 2 weeks later- another strong Jishin that woke EVEN ME up!
Is the Japanese market the closest thing to a
Perfect Competition?
So far, my research shows that... YES!
I am almost done with it, and big thanks to Dr. Iida from Komazawa University.
For more enquiries regarding my competition measurement method and results, click here.
Yellow Watermelon anyone?
So we did some shopping for the BBQ and saw this weird watermelon: Green from the
outside and YELLOW from the inside...
Obviously MUST try! So... it tastes like a regular red watermelon: sweet and juicy.
Enjoy pics
from Tamagawa BBQ & some pics from Minakami, Gunma Prefecture, in the country side.
Pet Shop Boys, Odaiba
In Hebrew we refer to "Dog's life" as bad life... well... Its definitely not
the case in Japan!!
Enjoy pics
of Odaiba and the Pet shops over there...
About Odaiba: It sits on the other side of the bay from central Tokyo and was built on
top of garbage. Yes, garbage. The Japanese have engaged in various “land reclamation
plans” over the years, which involve dumping garbage into Tokyo Bay until you get
something large and stable enough to build on top of.
So, start with garbage. Then, add a huge series of concrete hotel monstrosities, garish
supermalls, a huge neon-lit Ferris wheel and even the statue of liberty... and you have a
pretty good picture of the place.
Nobody
Knows (Dare Mo Shiranai)
I must recommend
you the Japanese film: "Nobody
Knows", by Hirokazu Kore-Eda. One of these movies that makes you think about it a lot
after it's end credits.
Great actors and Cannes Festival "best actor"
award was given to Yagira Yuya. Read Japanese, English
and Hebrew reviews.
Sakura, April
2005
If Passover symbolizes the arrival of the spring in Israel, the SAKURA (Cherry Blossom)
symbolizes it in Japan. This comes along with lots of "Hanami" (Watching
the blossom) parties. I guess that's the Japanese way of doing "Seder"... (and
had a nice Tokyo Seder as well!)
Enjoy the pics!
Chag Sameach, enjoy Golden Week and happy holidays to you all!
Back to SushiLand! Feb 2005
Back to Tokyo... after a long absence!
Just after RETURNING 2 Japan, u realize how even MORE amazing this country is and u
cherish it even more.
Tokyo haven’t changed much. Few shops has changed, some new roads and new tall buildings
has been built,
J-phone has changed to Vodafone, still the same J-pop idols, the cel phones became even
more amazing and
gadget-like (whatever I have seen in Japan 4 years ago, came recently 2 the rest of the
world... so wait and c!) and my old Sony office has amazingly changed, with the newest
computers, all wireless... and a brand new offices building in Ebisu. It was nice to see
everybody!
And got a new Degikame... So enjoy the pics!
End of June 2004

Australia! It turned to be a
great vacation indeed!
Time was a bit short but I managed to visit Melbourne, Mansfield, Sydney, Blue

Annual event of JIFA: Japan Israel Friendship Association.
It was really heart warming, hearing Beit-Shalom's Japanese choir
singing so beautifully in Hebrew and the Japanese dance group who danced Israeli folk
dance.
In the pic: Shamira and I, and the Japanese dancers. Up, in
Japanese, it's written: "SHAROM ISRAEL". Isn't that cute? and a last bothering note: In Hebrew slang,
"JIFA" means dirt... I wonder who chose this name ??!

Great Elections results!
I am extremely happy! :-)
Glad from the rise in LIKUD
(Liberals): The only ones with somehow a realistic vision. Sharon is a brave leader and
Nethanyahu will be his perfect right hand and foreign minister. And..
SHINUI ("change"): Because people
that pay taxes in our country- actually deserve something... Tommy Lapid: Join the
coalition and make the change!
I wish all good luck!

Israel is going for Elections!
The predictions are that the Likud will win. I certainly hope so :-)
THOUGH... I admit I got disappointed
from the lack of actions in the Economy, infrastructure, international and inland fields
I would certainly want to see some changes!
* Stopping the transfer-money thing. PEOPLE! GO TO WORK!
* Finally making the underground in jammed Tel-Aviv
* Finally keeping the promises, kick out bloody Arafat and switch him by someone that
actually HAS intentions for peace
* Making tourists agreements, so the Israeli passport holders would have benefits as
Europeans.
Of course there are much more... Hopefully, by the next elections we shall see some
changes... Hope is always Positive... I am an Optimistic person...

I waited all the past month for this past weekend! and... IT WAS AMAZING!
Being an originally Haifa girl, I am a summer person! Love the beach and the
Sunshine...
Being in the Japanese cold winter, I just learned to pass the winter on its best
side: Skiing!
Skiing in Hakuba's slopes is a one of a kind experience!
After being there last month, I decided that I just MUST get back there.
Such a perfect place! Great wide slopes for both beginners and
professionals; Great air; Great Atmosphere and great onsens!
One word left to say: SUBARASHI! CLICK

I must share my pride: The first Israeli Astronaut, ILAN RAMON,
was sent to the space last night. Well... Some say that he is not the first
Israeli astronaut... SHIMON PERES is... :-)
